A small shrub with a moderate growth rate, great for the landscape to provide all year shade for small areas, and color in the spring with its fragrant purple flowers.
Other common names for this species is Texas mescalbean and Frijolito due to the seeds pods that follow after it purple blooms, which look like beans.
